In 1946, Roland De Groote starts 'De Groote sprl': a wholesale and import company located in Ostend, Belgium. The company originally manufactures and sells ice-cream powders, distributes bakery products and colonial goods such as coffee and tea.

The growth in the demand for bakery ovens and bakery machines became so important, that in 1950 the decision was taken to extend the range of products to bakery machines, ovens, bakery lines, chocolate lines and a very large range of bakery accessories.

In the sixties tourism became very popular.
An additional range of new kitchen utensils joined the existing collection. They were essentially professional cookware and kitchen items for restaurants, schools, collectivities and the hospitality industry.

In 1969, Roland De Groote's two daughters Mireille and Eliane De Groote joined the company. With the support of this new, young and dynamic generation the range of products gains once more, an important extension. Mireille De Groote became CEO of De Groote SPRL. She was at that time one of youngest CEO's in Belgium.

This time the newly selected and added products are: table art, chinaware, tableware, silver and silver plated cutlery and flatware, professional textile, bed-, bath-, and table linen. The company created a unique lifestyle concept for the luxury hotels and restaurant industry, assuring high customer satisfaction at all levels. The company had a partnership with several 4 and 5 stars hotel chains, such as Novotel, Hilton, Sheraton and Radisson.

Pressured by the huge market demand, the assortment expanded significantly in 1981. In that year 'De Groote sprl' created a new subsidiary: 'De Baere NV'. The aim of 'De Baere NV' was the creation and the operation of luxury shops with high level table top designs, designed for the end user.

Gathering the international contacts in Europe and her partners from all over the world, Mireille De Groote decided in 2012 to put her know how step by step to the service of parties who are willing to export, market their products and create sales on the European market.
